Tom Dorsett, a native Austinite has been in the healthcare field for 20 years as an entrepreneur and business development executive. Focusing in different areas including health IT, clinical research and benefits spaces. Tom founded three companies and exited 2 thus far, NuScribe and ePatientFinder. Tom continues to challenge himself by creating innovative solutions across the healthcare spectrum that have a positive effect on patients.
In 2003 Tom founded NuScribe and was its Chief Executive Officer. A provider of cloud based, voice recognition driven documentation systems for physicians. NuScribe was the first such system to be provided online. Ultimately the platform evolved into the first HIPAA compliant secure messaging system coupled with a social networking platform which was called iMedicor.
In 2006 NuScribe was acquired by Vemics, a provider of real-time video, voice and data
conferencing solutions and continuing education programs.
In 2013 Tom founded ePatientFinder and was its Chief Executive Officer. ePatientFinder
provides a platform that connects patients with clinical research opportunities through their
own trusted physicians. By leveraging a nationwide network of partner clinics, ePatientFinder is able to educate physicians on pharma client’s trial opportunities. ePatientFinder raised $15M through strategic partners LabCorp (NYSE: LH) and Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX). ePatientFinder was acquired in 2018 by Elligo Life Sciences, a contract research organization.
In 2018 Tom and Dr. Siva Mohan founded RazorMetrics. Tom has the role of Chief Executive Officer. RazorMetrics was created to leverage everything mastered through building ePatientFinder including patient and physician engagement techniques. RazorMetrics lowers drug spend for self-funded employers and health plans. This is accomplished through a technology platform that has been built by the organization from the ground up that facilitates a unique engagement model. RazorMetrics has succeeded in conveying over partnerships with both LabCorp and Allscripts which compliments a growing number of other strategic relationships.
Siva B. Mohan, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. Siva Mohan, a native of Atlanta, is a healthcare entrepreneur and physician. He currently
practices interventional cardiology as faculty of Emory University School of Medicine. He
completed his post-secondary education at the University of Washington (Seattle) and Emory
University (Atlanta, GA). He completed his general cardiology fellowship at the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he later received his fellowship training in coronary and
peripheral interventions. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and
Currently, Dr. Mohan is co-founder and president of RazorMetrics. As an entrepreneur, Dr.
Mohan was a principal in Health Point Partners, a population health company (Sarasota, FL). He
raised $8mm for the venture. After one year, he assisted in the sale of the Medicare Advantage
segment (BeHealthy) to Alignment Healthcare. Dr. Mohan has been an advisor to several
healthcare venture capital firms over the last ten years, including Hatteras Venture Partners
(Durham, NC). Prior to RazorMetrics, he was the chief medical officer for ePatientFinder, which
was acquired 5/18. Dr. Mohan is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta (class of 2013) and was also
awarded Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top 40 under 40. He currently sits on the boards of Emory
Healthcare and the American Heart Association (SE chapter).
Dr. Mohan has distinguished himself in receiving many academic, professional, and leadership
awards. In addition to being well published in peer-reviewed academic journals and textbooks,
he has also spearheaded the formation of the Southern Heart Research Institute, where
academic clinical research is the mission. Beyond his strong commitment to clinical practice, he
holds advisory/investigator positions with several multinational medical device and
pharmaceutical companies where he has also served as a consultant. He is a member/fellow of
the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Society of Coronary
Angiography and Intervention, and European Society of Cardiology.
Gary Epple is a long-term technologist with a passion for building high quality development
teams and products. After graduating from the University of Connecticut as an honor's scholar with a degree in Computer Science Engineering, Gary's career has encompassed lead software development roles, product and engineering team leadership roles and 20+ years in technical executive management roles. His experience spans several significant markets including system software, payment processing and healthcare. An entrepreneur at heart, Gary has spent the majority of his career in startup, early stage and growth mode companies.
Gary joined RazorMetrics shortly after its inception as CTO, taking on responsibility for all
aspects of product design and implementation. His background with healthcare data and
analytics and experience with cloud-based development has provided a solid launch point for the RM technical vision and strategy. Successful (and not so successful) experiences with offshore development have led to implementation of RM's offshore development model which is producing high quality software on schedule and under budget.
Gary's current technical interests are in the area of large-scale data processing systems, data analytics and application of machine learning. He holds 3 patents- one in user interface design and two in data security and continues to look for new ways to apply latest technologies to solving practical problems. Gary remains an active mentor to members of the Austin high tech community.
Hill brings to Razor over 27 years of healthcare leadership experience, primarily in health plan and SaaS technology service companies. He also brings demonstrated expertise in managing successful company growth through technology partnerships, go-to-market strategy and sales, mergers and acquisitions, and service delivery and operations. He was most recently President of Peak Health Solutions, a revenue cycle technology company.
Before joining Peak, Brad served as Chief Revenue Officer at RemitDATA, a healthcare SaaS technology company providing analytics solutions to healthcare professionals. Hill was also Senior Vice President of Health Plan Solutions for Passport Health Communications / Experian Health, a data management company. Hill also worked in executive leadership roles at Parity, Inc., HMS, Inc., and AIM Healthcare, Inc. Hill is a CPA and earned his degrees from Murray State University.
